SQL Server 2005/2008/R2 with data migrated from Version 2000

Issue – When opening the Teacher Timetable control in Spider the following error is received:

 (The above error states: “Error generating SELECT failed because the following SET options have incorrect settings is ‘ARITHABORT’. Verify that SET options are correct for use with indexed views and / or indexes on computed columns and / or filtered indexes and / or query notifications and / or XML data type methods and / or spatial index operators.”)

Solution – The most common reason for this error is that the school used SQL Server 2000 and migrated to a newer SQL server. This migration can result in some automated configuration done in the database by the SQL Server.

In Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio go to the database property of the PCSchool Database and check the Compatibility Level field (as highlighted in the image below). This should be set to SQL Server 2005 (or 2008 or R2) to match your version of SQL.
